Common Aluminum Composite Panel Connection Methods

Aluminum composite panels can be linked using standard metal and plastic joining methods. Here are a few common methods of communication.

Rivet attachment

Aluminum composite panels can be bonded between panels or between panels and other materials with aluminum rivets. To avoid corrosion on the surface of the Dibond sheet in outdoor or high-humidity applications, stainless steel core rivets should be used. When using iron-core rivets, the core must be retrieved after riveting. Countersunk rivets are only suitable for indoor use.

1. Fixings for the outdoors

When employing screw-fixing parts outside, the thermal expansion coefficient of the composite panel must be considered. Click here for exterior wall aluminum composite panels. To avoid distortion of the composite wall panel due to heat deformation, the opening on the aluminum plastic composite panel must be greater than the screw diameter to meet expansion and contraction requirements. The use of stainless steel screws with ferrules minimizes the deformation of the aluminum plastic composite panel, and the product's functionality has been validated.

Choose a screw that is appropriate for the structural material, and tighten it with a torque wrench or a screwdriver to make sure the gasket successfully seals the aperture but is not so tight that it leaves marks on the aluminum plate's surface. To achieve centering drilling and rivet construction, it is occasionally required to utilize a deformed drill bit or casing to drill holes in the aluminum plate or bottom structure. Before installing the screws, it is crucial to remove the protective film.

2. Interior fittings

Steel or wood-fixing screws with various head shapes can be used for indoor applications. Typically, these screws prevent the aluminum composite sheet from being displaced by thermal expansion. The aluminum composite board can be fixed with a countersunk screw. You can either press the aluminum panel into the panel directly or use the standard countersink technique. The screw rod's diameter is greater than the hole in the metal panel. Click here for interior composite wall panels.

Welding plastic

The joining of composite panels made of aluminum and plastic can be accomplished by using hot air to weld plastics together. The aluminum plate is melted using warm air from the electric heating torch. The polyethylene plastic electrode is linked to the cooled polyethylene core layer. Good circumstances for welding quality include the ones listed below:

1. Prepare a good board edge interface;

2. Clean hot air;

3. Correct welding temperature;

4. Correct contact pressure;

5. Welding speed.

Bonding

Indoor billboards and booth layouts use bonding metal adhesive or universal adhesive. The bonding of composite panels can be accomplished using frequently used metals or standard adhesives. For connections requiring only a moderate amount of strength, double-sided tape is appropriate. It should be noted that the adhesive often has no problems with static strength when used outside. Due to differences in the thermal expansion coefficient of the components, the bonding failure of the composite aluminum panel to other materials may happen.
